Vielmehr markiert die Psychologisierung auch eine Ausweitung der Disziplin „Psychologie“, die mit einer Wende hin zur Dominanz quantitativer Modelle sowie einer Marginalisierung theoriezentrierter Ansätze einhergeht. Schon in ihrer Formationszeit wurden beide Psychologisierungsprozesse von lautstarker Kritik begleitet.
